Masjid TTDI

Raya tahun ini, aku dan keluarga ku solat sunat raya di Masjid TTDI. Masjid TTDI ni dah biasa pergi. Aku, Umi and Maisha memang selalu kalau keluar jalan2 cari masjid untuk solat. Salah satu yang favourite untuk pergi is Masjid TTDI known as Masjid At-Taqwa. Memang best. Tempatnya solatnya dan tempat wudhuknya sangat la bersih. Masjid TTDI selalunya ramai orang walaupun bukan bulan Ramadhan. Tempatnya luas dan comfortable. :)

Smoking Is Bad

Setelah sekian lama tak update. :) Ok, here goes. Lately ni, wherever I go, I see people smoking. Everywhere je ade orang yang tengoh smoking. Apalah bagus sangat dengan hisap rokok tu. Anda rasa anda "cool" ke masa pegang sebatang rokok tu? Tsk tsk tsk. So far, asyik dengar keburukan hisap rokok je. Berhenti la hisap rokok tu. Not only you affect yourself but the others around you as well.

Iklan Raya BERNAS 2012

Ok, sape yang tengok iklan raya BERNAS 2012? Iklan yang telah berjaya memukau hati aku ini malah juga berjaya memukau ribuan hati penonton. Aku tengok iklan ni sampai menangis la. Walaupun tengok gambar ke, terkenang semula ke memang sah saya akan nangis juga. Kali pertama aku tengok iklan ni, aku nangis....kali kelima pun aku masih nangis. :( Sangat sedih. Lagi-lagi masa dia kata  "Mak Ahmad, Mak Fizi juga" sambil meletakkan tangan Fizi di nisan ibunya. Berlinang la air mata aku ketika itu.

Masterchef


Hari ini, tiba-tiba saya terasa macam nak masak la pulak. To Do or Not To Do? That is the question to be asked. Haha. Tapi saya rasa bila balik rumah malam je saya dah pancit and plus sungguh la kenyang sebab buka puasa. Nevermind la, next time je la saya masak bila time bukan bulan puasa and bila tak letih. Hihi. Lambat lagi la tu. This is what I plan to do cook actually (ni la akibatnya duk tengok channel 706 kat Astro):


  1. Classic Mashed Potato
  2. Coleslaw
  3. Sticky-Honey Soy Chicken Wings
Everything sounds so delicious right now. Haha. Biasa la tu bila saya semangat nak buat itu semua. 

For classic mashed potato:
Ingredients:
  1. 800g coliban potatoes
  2. 40g butter, chopped
  3. 1/3 cup hot milk (see note)
  4. extra butter (to serve)
Method:
  1. Peel potatoes and cut into large chunks. Cook in a large saucepan of boiling salted water for 20mins or until very tender but not falling apart.
  2. Drain potatoes well. Return to saucepan over low heat. Shake pan gently until remaining water evaporates. Using a potato masher, roughly mash potatoes.
  3. Add butter and hot milk to potatoes. Beat with a wooden spoon until fluffy. Season with salt & pepper. Serve topped with extra butter and salt & pepper.
Note:
To heat milk, pour into a microwave-safe jug/cup. Heat, uncovered for 1 to 2 minutes on HIGH power or until hot.

For coleslaw:
Ingredients:
  1. 1 head cabbage (finely chopped)
  2. 2 carrots (finely chopped)
  3. 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  4. 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  5. 1/3 cup white sugar
  6. 1/4 milk
  7. 1/4 buttermilk
  8. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  9. 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar (substitute with lemon or lime juice)
  10. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  11. 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Method:
  1. Mix cabbage, carrots and onion in a large salad bowl. Whisk mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt and black pepper in a separate bowl until smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and mix thoroughly. Cover bowl and refrigerate slaw at least 2 hours ( the longer the better). Mix again before serving.
Sticky-Honey Soy Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
  1. 2 pounds chicken wings
  2. 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  3. 1 tbs grated fresh ginger
  4. 2 tbs chopped fresh cilantro leaves
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 1/2 lemon, juiced
  7. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  8. 2 tbs E-V-O-O
  9. 2 tbs butter
  10. 1/2 cup honey
  11. sesame seeds (for garnish)
Method:
  1. Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. Remove tip and discard; separate each wing at the joint into 2 pieces. Place wings in a shallow dish and pour over the soy sauce, ginger, cilantro, garlic and lemon juice. Toss to well to coat; marinate, refrigerated for 2 hours.
  2. Remove wings from marinade and pat dry; season with salt and pepper. In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter in the E-V-O-O. When the butter stops foaming, add the honey and chicken wings and fry until browned on each side, about 5 minutes. Continue cooking the wings, turning them over often to coat them as the glaze reduces. Cook until the wings are sticky and cooked through. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve.

Nasi Kandar Pelita

As-salam dan salam sejahtera. Macam biasa weekend buka puasa kat luar la. Kali ini aku buka puasa kat seperti yang tertera di atas Nasi Kandar Pelita. My favourite place to eat nasi kandar la. :) Plus orang semua dah kenal kami sekeluarga dah. So tau2 je la bila dah kenal. Ok, back to the story-mory. Sampai dekat restoran tu dalam pukul 6 lebih la sebab nak booking and ambik lauk supaya tak hectic sangat. However, sampai2 disana blackout la pulak. Tapi disebabkan perut dah memang mengidam nasi pelita so kami makan je la disana. My standard rice consists of nasi putih, sayur kubis, bendi, ayam hitam and kuah ayam hitam. Sampai Abe Iz pun dah tau, asal pi sana je dia tau lauk ape yang aku ambik.  Seriously makanan kat Pelita ni pun sedap and the staffs are nice. :) 



Sorry tak boleh ambik banyak gambar sebab gelap plus ni guna camera hp je. Tu ayam hitam saya. Sangat sedap ok.....:)

Let's Exercise

As-salam kepada pembaca sekalian. Come on Malaysian get up from the soft sofa and do something. Macam slogan Nike. Just Do It!!!!
Actually, exercise is important even if you just do about 30mins per day. Its important to your health plus it gives you a smoking body. Hihi. Dari asyik duk complain je. dah gemuk dah gemuk tapi tak nak buat ape gak. Macam mana la nak lose weight. Ish ish. Daripada duk diet sampai tak mkn ape-ape, gi la exercise tu. Do you know that eating nothing at all to lose weight is so not effective. Exercise is really important because:

  1. It helps to prevent diseases like reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases.
  2. Improves your stamina.
  3. It strengthens and toned your muscle and body. You will not only feel better but also look much better.
  4. It enhances your flexibility.
  5. Controls your weight.
  6. It improves your quality of life as well.
So what are you waiting for, go and exercise. Wherever you are, you can exercise.

Restoran Kayu Nasi Kandar

Wahai pembaca-pembaca sekalian. :) Macam biasa post pasal makan lagi la. :p
Kali ni, hari isnin kami satu keluarga (atuk/nenek, uncle/aunty, cousins) berbuka puasa di jeng jeng jeng....Restoran Kayu di Kota Damansara. Padahal memang dah selalu pergi pun. Makanan kat sini biasa la boleh tahan. Tapi nasi campur agak mahal la. Kalau ambik nasi setengah pun, mamak tu akan kira full jugak. Sigh. Ok la, tapi kalau nak pergi time buka puasa tak payah la. Memang kelam-kabut sesungguhnya. Aku dan Maisha punya la tunggu lama untuk lauk and nasi. Disebabkan semua dah start makan aku dan dia tak dapat lagi, kami pun pergi la ambik kat bawah tu. Nasi setengah, ayam madu kepak and sayur RM6.50.
Makan-makan. Lepas tu aku berjanji tak nak makan kat situ dah sebab terlampau kenyang. (haha, guess what, selalu dah cakap macam tu...tak menjadi pun) Tapi kalau time bukan puasa, memang best untuk lepak with friends or family. Kalau nak quieter environment, naik kat tingkat atas. Ade air-cond kat atas. Hahaha. Roti tisu kat Kayu mmg sedap and plus tandoori dia pun sedap. Hahahaha. Goreng-goreng pun ade.

LRT

Pada Rabu (8/8/12), saya dan Umi terpaksa naik LRT ke keje, Umi turun di KLCC and saya di Ampang Park. Hal ini demikian kerana, well tak ade ape2 pun. Biarlah ia menjadi sebuah rahsia di dalam ingatan kami berdua. Hahaha. Sampai di LRT station, typical waktu pagi2. Pintu LRT tu buka, semua berebut masuk sebab nak tmpt duduk. Ish ish ish. Umi dah warga emas, terpaksa la aku yang merebutkan tmpt duduk bagi pihak dia. :p Tolak sana, tolak sini. Selepas penat bertarung di medan perang, akhirnya dapat la tempat duduk untuk Umi. (amboi, exaggerate sungguh diri ku ni).


Siapa ingat gambar ni? Kalau tak ingat terpaksa la anda sekalian kena naik LRT selalu. Itu adalah gambar standard yang orang nampak. Tapi bagi Umi benda lain dia nampak. 


Ni la gambar yang Umi nampak. Saje nak extra large kan gambar tuh bagi yg penglihatan bukan 10/10. :) Tiap-tiap station yang LRT lalu makin bertambah la penumpang dalam train tersebut. Nasib baik la aku dpt duduk sblh Umi. Seperti biasa Umi guna ayat yang pertama tu la bila aku kata aku tak boleh duduk kat situ. Hahaha. Next station, ade perempuan foreigner ni masuk. Tak tua mana la pun. Cuma ade wrinkle2 je. Aku nak bangun tapi Umi kata, mana ade orang tua pakai dress yang jarang pas2 ade belt pulak tu. Plus pakai anting2 yang lebih kurang 1 meter panjang. Yang Umi tak habis2 gelak sebab dia pakai kasut "spartacus"...tsk tsk...

Point kedua, org yg bawa beg pun dikira bukan orang tua sebab dia bawa beg? hahahaha umi umi. Nampak sangat pagi2 dah tak betul. Dia kata, orang tua and org patah kaki takkan naik LRT sebab keji giler sape yang bagi diaorg naik LRT. Mereka perlu dihantar menaiki kereta ke destinasi mereka. :) Bila nak sampai KLCC, Umi bangun and kata aku boleh duduk dekat situ sebab perut saya ade angin.Yang mengakibatkan perut buncit!!! Hahaha....

Restoran Tirai Ratus

Ok , my Umi said I'm an "eat-ish" person cause I eat a lot. Well that is true. I'm a foodie person. Cuma saya tidak memilih untuk makan ape. Makan je ape yang dah disediakan atas meja tu kalau lauk-pauk la. Kalau menu lain cerita. Ok, here goes. On the 31/7, it was nenny's birthday. Of course we celebrated. Since it is a fasting month, we celebrated during buka puasa at Restoran Tirai Ratus seksyen 3, Shah Alam. It is a buffet, so if not mistaken RM35 per person. There are different types of food there. There are nasi beriani, nasi ayam, nasi putih with different types of lauk-pauk, and mee goreng. The lighter food like kuih-muih was not variety-ish. There was just lik some green thing with kelapa, agar-agar and kuih with 2 lapisan white and green wrap in the pandan leaves. Sorry, tak pasti la nama kuih tu sampai sekarang. Ask my friend, she said it is kuih tepung pelita. Kalau salah jangan marah you alls. :p
Nasi beriani boleh tahan la. Macam biasa saya ambik nasi beriani ayam merah la sebab saya kurang makan daging. :) Although, nasi beriani ok, but ayam yang saya dapat tak berapa masak dengan betul. Still ade parts yang a bit raw. Sigh. Such a disappointment. Tapi lauk-lauk lain tak berapa memberangsangkan. The mee goreng was a bit dried and kuih-muih dia pun tak berapa sedap and plus tak ade banyak choice. :( Nasib baik la lepas tu ade kek for nenny's birthday. Nyam nyam. Saya makan sampai tiga slice. :p Sah memang benar, saya seorang yang eat-ish.

Overall: Quite sad. :(

Tak Mau Bawa Laju2

Sekarang kalau bawa kereta, sila bawa dengan paling sopan santun sekali. Jangan langgar lampu merah, no no speeding, no doing any illegal stunts, cuma hanya boleh bawa comel-comel je. Now according to the star online, all the road users will be under (automated enforcement system) AES watch. Takut takut. Bagus jugak ade minatang ni, baru semua takut nak jadi ala2 mat remit bagi yang bawa moto dan ala2 Brian O'connor dalam fast and furious bagi yang bawa kereta. Finally, something that could really decrease the accident's rate. :) Hope so.
Ade lebih kurang 566 speed cameras, 265 traffic light cameras and 250 mobile cameras. Sungguh la banyak. Lebih kurang 1000 mata sedang memerhatikan anda. :p Satu kamera boleh ambik lebih kurang 600 gambar offenders. Itu baru satu kamera. 1000 X 600 = ........ Wow. Silence. :) There will be a 12mb image to indicate the time, date and location as well.......................Saman akan dikeluarkan 2 minggun lepas gambar di ambil. Cepat sungguh. Memang tak ade alasan la nak kata"eh, bukan saya la", "saya tak ingat la". :p Face the music. Jeng jeng jeng.

Tuscan Scrambled Egg



Tuscan Scrambled Eggs Recipe

INGREDIENTS

·         3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
·         1 large yellow onion, peeled and chopped
·         1 1/4 lb (600g) plum tomatoes, peeled and chopped or 1 14 oz can of diced tomatoes
·         6 eggs
·         Salt and freshly ground pepper

METHOD

1 Heat olive oil on medium heat in a nonstick skillet. Add the onions and cook until translucent, just starting to turn golden in color, about 6 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook over low heat until the liquid evaporates, about 40 minutes.
2 Whisk the eggs in a bowl until well blended. Season with a little salt and pepper. Add the eggs to the tomato and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, and scraping from the bottom with a wooden spoon. Remove from heat as soon as the eggs begin to set, but are still moist, about 3 minutes. Turn out onto a serving plate. Serve immediately.
Serves 3.

Mint Chocolate Pudding Cakes Recipe

INGREDIENTS
·         6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
·         1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
·         3 large eggs
·         3 large egg yolks
·         1/3 cup sugar
·         1/4 cup all purpose flour
·         1 1/4 teaspoons peppermint extract
·         1/4 teaspoon salt
METHOD
1 Preheat oven to 375°F. Generously butter six 3/4-cup (6 ounce) ramekins. Cut the butter into pieces and heat the chocolate with the butter in small, thick-bottomed saucepan over low heat, stirring, until melted and smooth. Remove the pan from the burner and let cool slightly.
2 With an electric mixer, beat the eggs, egg yolks, and the sugar until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Add the flour and beat until incorporated. Add the chocolate mixture, the peppermint extract, and the salt. Beat just until incorporated. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared ramekins. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet.
3 Bake the cakes until the edges are set but the centers look shiny and still wiggle like jello when the ramekins are lightly shaken, 10-11 minutes. (Start checking at 9 minutes.) Remove the cakes from oven; let cool for 5-10 minutes.
Either serve as is, in the ramekins, or run a knife around the edges of the cakes and invert on to individual dessert plates.
Serve with raspberries, mint leaves, vanilla or mint ice cream, or whipped cream.
